Pretty Flowers

I've been a member of the One Stitch at a Time design team for several years, and for my birthday in November, I was allowed to choose some images as a gift. One of those I chose is a gorgeous digi stamp and paper set from Coosty Creations called Aubrietta.

I cut the image using a Spellbinder's die and coloured with Spectrum Noir pencils. I did a Spirelli-type frame with silver thread around the die cut. The paper is one of those supplied with the image - although I squared it off to fit the design. I finished with some silver ribbon.

I need to get around to using more of the gorgeous images I chose, but there just don't seem to be enough hours in the day sometimes!

This time, our challenge is hosted by my team mate, Lorraine, and the theme is love. So it can be a valentine, or a card for a wedding or engagement - it's up to you so long as the theme is love.

I chose to make a valentine card for my husband, although naturally, I won't be signing it!

I've used a gorgeous lacy paper from Joanna Sheen's Ivory Cats CD - and I've got to say it was well worth the money I paid for the background papers alone! Normally when I buy a CD, I love the images and am disappointed with the background papers. It's the opposite this time. (Well, not really. The images are fine, but there are only so many people you can send cat images to.)

The front heart is made using a couple of Marianne dies, and the inside one uses a Sizzix die. I generated the sentiment in Photoshop Element. The flowers were made using a set of Sizzix Susan's Garden dies and were shaded using Pan Pastels.

The card is a bit fussier than I'd usually do for my husband, but I didn't want it to be completely plain.

This time at One Stitch at a Time, our challenge is ... anything goes with LOVE. So, it can be a valentine, but it doesn't have to be. In fact, I've chosen to make an anniversary card for my husband.

I've used Two Hearts by Floppy Latte designs. I added the date of our anniversary and the number of years to the hearts, and a sentiment before printing. The resulting image was cut using a Sizzix die and coloured with Promarkers. I've used another Sizzix die to cut the heart in the background, and embossed. The paper is from my stash - I think it's Papermania. Since it's for my husband, I left it without further embellishment.

This time, our challenge is hosted by Julie, and she wants us to use two or more images. These can be conventional or digital, but you have to combine them in some way to make a new image.

I used a couple of Clarity stamps that have been very under-used.

I first stamped the vase, then masked it before adding the flowers. I coloured the result with Spectrum Noir pencils. I cut the image and matt with a Spellbinders die. The paper is from Papermania. I had intended to embellish with flowers, but liked the clean lines, so instead I just added a stamped sentiment, again cut and matted using Spellbinders dies.
