This week at One Stitch at a Time, our challenge is ... Anything Goes! So, show us what you've been up to!
This week, the image was chosen by my team mate Jeanette from the collection by Crafty Girl Creations. She chose an image called Puppy.
Our sponsor this week is
and you can win a pack of the seven images/papers used by the design team this week.
I added the text in Photoshop Elements and then coloured with Promarkers. Apart from that lovely Kate Knight paper and some matting, all I added is some pretty brown and gold braid.
I hope you can join us this week.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 205
This week at One Stitch at a Time, in honour of Mothering Sunday, our challenge is to make something for a 'woman in your life'. That could be your mum, of course, but it can be any other woman who's important to you.
Our sponsor this time is
I worked with a pretty floral image from Stitchy Bear called Flowerlicious, which is available from the shop - link in my sidebar. It's perfect for any woman - in this case, it's for my sister's birthday.
I added the text in Photoshop Elements and then printed the image (or parts of it) three times, and coloured with Promarkers. I layered both the flower and the butterfly, and finished the flower with a sticky gem. The image is cut and matted using shapes cut with Spellbinders dies, and the die cut butterfly is another Spellbinders die. I added some glitter glue to the butterfly's body. The paper is from Kate Knight, and was a magazine freebie a while ago.
I hope you can join us this week.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
City Crafter where the theme is 'spring in the garden',
Fan-Tastic Tuesday where anything goes,
Lady Bug Crafts Ink where they want something for a special lady (my sister),
Addicted to Stamps and More where they want us to 'Make your Mark' (mine was made with Promarkers)
The Crafter's Cafe where they want a square card,
Divas by Design where the theme is 'flower power',
Crafts and Me where anything goes,
Bearly Mine where they want 'one for the girls',
Digi Galore where anything goes.

Derwent Coloursoft Pencils
I bought some Coloursoft pencils a year or two ago, and I even used them, but was never that pleased with the result. I'm more familiar with my Promarkers, and so often, especially when I've got DT commitments, I go to them for colouring because it's the simplest option. In particular, I remember having problems with getting a believable skin tone. So, when I found I had some colouring time while getting over a nasty lurgy, I decided to find an image that didn't have any skin tones and have a go!
I used an image called 'Camelia Still Life' by Blackberry Lane. I got the image as part of my DT work for the Stitchy Bear outlet, but she doesn't sell through them any more. However, a little google magic and I came up with this.
I used my pencils and blended with baby oil. I was pleased enough with the result to want to make it into a card, so this weekend, I got out my background stamps and ink and set to. I've used a variety of stamps from Indigo Blu, Inky Doodles and others whose origin is lost! I stamped in Distress Ink and added some further colour with Pan Pastels. For the flowers, I used Sizzix dies, and the feathry leaf is from Spellbinders.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Shabby Tearoom where anything goes,
Paper Nest Dolls where anything goes,
613 Avenue Create where the theme is 'anything goes with option 2 or 3d flowers',
Challenges 4 Everybody where anything goes,
Lacy Sunshine where anything goes,
That Craft Place where they want flowers,
Crafts Galore where they want a stamp (rubber or digi).
Flush with success doing that image, I found one of my stash of pre-printed images which needed skin tones and had a go there too.
I was happy enough with the skin tones, to go ahead and do the rest of the image. In fact, I think that's one of my best attempts at black hair ever - somehow with Promarkers, I seem to end up working so hard to blend that I get too much bleed. But, enough of that! The image is a gorgeous digi from Crafts and Me by Sara Burrier. As above, the background is a result of various stamps and Distress Ink with some Pan Pastel to finish it off. I added some glitter glue and liquid pearl to the image, and finished the card with a paper doily, and some more flowers made using Sizzix die cuts and the same Spellbinders feathery leaf.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Fan-Tastic Tuesday where anything goes,
Digi Sketch where the theme is 'fantasy' (following theme only),
Melonheadz where the theme is 'girly',
The Crazy Challenge where the theme is 'flower frenzy',

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 112
This time at Crafty Cardmakers, it's my turn to host the challenge, and I've gone for something I enjoy but don't often find time to do - Paper Pricking (or Piercing if you prefer.) I'd like to see some decorative paper pricking on your project. It can be a border, an embellishment or the whole design, so long as the paper or card has been pierced. If you want, you can stitch the holes - that's up to you, but no faux-stitching! As far as I'm concerned, the more decorative, the better!
Our sponsors this time are:
I used an image from our sponsor called Tess Summer Fun.
As you can see, I've pricked and stitched a frame for the image. I did consider leaving it unstitched, but in the end, I just couldn't! The pattern from the frame comes from The Art of Decorative Paper Pricking by Janet Wilson, although I had to adapt the inner pattern to make it work the way I wanted it to. I stitched it with some thread I keep for paper embroidery - it's got a beautiful sheen and it's nice and fine. I think it's intended for machine embroidery, but I wouldn't trust myself anywhere near a sewing machine! The image is coloured with Promarkers, although I shaded the background slightly with Pan Pastels. The image and matt were cut using Spellbinders dies, and I threaded some ribbon from Papermania through the eyelets. I finished the card by adding some liquid pearl to the pricked pattern.
I hope you can join us this time. I'm looking forward to visiting your blogs to see what you've come up with - and I'll be choosing a winner and top five. So, let me see how decorative you can make your paper-pricking!

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 204
This week at One Stitch at a Time, the challenge is to use a digi. So, that gives you loads of scope - anything you like so long as there's a digi somewhere.
Our sponsor this week is:
See the challenge blog for details.
This week, I worked with an image called Mushroom 2 from Srappers' Delights. I combined it with a silhouette from Stitchy called Watching You - both are available from the shop.
I used a background from Crafts and Me, to which I added the sentiment and the two images using Photoshop Elements. After printing, I coloured the mushroom image with Promarkers, and added a little glitter glue to the silhouette fairy's wings. I finished with some die cuts - the branches are from the Tattered Lace range, and the flowers are Memory Box, and I finished the flowers with a little glitter glue.
I hope you can join us this week.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Crafting from the Heart where they want anything goes/favourite colours. (I love mixes of cyan/peachy oranges and browns.)
Love to Create where anything goes,

A Couple of New Cards
I managed to get some time to add a couple of cards to my box - and these aren't for any DT obligations. I did them because I wanted to!
Here, I've used a Digi from Crafts and Me and my favourite artist Sara Burrier. I coloured with Promarkers. The Celtic theme suggested greens, which I love, and this was the result. The background papers are from Papermania and Poundland!
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Delightful Challenges where the theme is 'green',
Delicious Doodles where they want 'mainly green',
Stamping with the Dragon where they want us to 'go green',
Crafting by Designs where they want 'things with wings',
Inky Impressions where they want us to 'go green',
Crafty Sentiments where they want 'lots of green',
This uses a rubber stamp from Sweet Pea and artist Ching Chou Kuik. I coloured with Promarkers. The papers here come from a pad by Paper Pizazz, and I finished with some sticky gems (again from Poundland) which I coloured with Promarker to match.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Crafty Little Fairies where the theme is 'things with wings',
That's Crafty where anything goes,
Addicted to Stamps and More where anything goes,
The Paper Shelter where they're 'away with the fairies'.

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 203
This week at One Stitch at a Time, our challenge is something I know a lot of us find hard. We're challenging you to make something 'for a boy'. He can be any age, and other than that, the choice of theme is yours.
We're sponsored by
See the challenge blog for details.
This week, I chose an image from the Digi Blessings collection, called Turn that Frown Upside Down.
I first arranged the image and sentiment in Photoshop Elements. I've actually split the sentiment so that it 'frames' the picture. I coloured the image with Promarkers, and added a faint blue sky behind using Pan Pastels. I've used what has become my 'go to' pad when I want something masculine - it's from the Papermania Persimmon collection. I've had it for quite a while - just shows I don't make that many 'masculine' cards!I've combined three papers here (not something I do often ...) Knowing the males in my family, I haven't embellished the card heavily - the men in my life like things plain and simple! So, apart from the layering, all I've added are a couple of dragonfly brads, on the grounds that they're much more masculine than butterflies! (Well, I think so. And no, it isn't remotely logical.)
I hope you can join us this week.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Fan-Tastic Tuesday where anything goes,
Lady Bug Crafts where they want 'one for the boys',
Papertake Weekly where anything goes,
Shopping Our Stash where they want 3-2-1 (Three papers, two dragonfly brads, one image)
Crafting By Designs where anything goes,
Nutcrafters where they want 'something for the boys',

A Quiet Weekend
That's what we've had! And very nice it's been too. We managed to get out for a walk yesterday while the sun was shining, and today I've made some bread and between those things, I've been making some cards.
This first card uses an image I won some time ago. It's from Sassy Studios and it's called 'My Fair Lady'. I teamed it with some papers from my Pamela West CDrom. I did tweak the colours the papers to bring them closer to one of my favourite Promarker colours - Bluebell. I combined the papers in Photoshop Elements before printing them. I cut the image using a Spellbinder die, and coloured the image with Promarkers, finishing her beautiful feathered hat with a feather from my collection. Rather than matting the image, I decided to 'borrow' an idea I spotted recently. I thought I'd remembered where I found it, but when I looked, I couldn't find the project. So, apologies to whoever it was who I saw surrounding an image with flowers! The flowers were cut using some Cheery Lynn dies and finished with a liquid pearl in the centre.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
The Doodle Garden where anything goes,
Bugaboo where anything goes,
ABC where the theme is 'Girls',
Natalie and Amy's Challenge where they want flowers,
The East Wind where the theme is 'use a digi',
I Love Promarkers where the theme is 'die cuts',
Tuesday Throwdown where anything goes.
The other card is really quite different.
Here, I've used a stamp from Crafty Individuals. I treated myself to a few in the run up to Christmas, and coloured it over the school holiday. I went searching through my digital papers to find something to use with it, but didn't find anything quite as I wanted it. I did find a paper that came from my Crafty Emporium CD (from Crafty Computer Paper), but it had a grey background. A little magic from Photoshop Elements, and the background is rather closer to the Promarker Shade 'Pastel Pink'. The image was coloured with Promarkers. The flower was made using a set of dies from Susan's Garden. The poppy is a little big for a six by six card - I do wish she'd done a smaller version of her dies - but as a single flower in this instance, I think it works. I shaded the flower with Pan Pastel in black and finished it with a liquid pearl.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
CMC where the theme is 'Flaming Reds',
Sunflower Fields where the theme is 'birthdays and/or flowers',
Card and Scrap where the theme is 'use dies',
Sister Act where anything goes,
Fan-Tastic Tuesday where anything goes,
Party Time Tuesday where anything goes,

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 202
This week at One Stitch at a Time, our challenge is another 'anything goes'! So, whatever you want to share with us is fine, but remember, you can only enter a maximum of three times if you don't use a product from the Stitchy Bear Outlet.
The sponsor this week is
This week, I got to choose an image for Hazel, Shell and myself from Stitchy Bear herself. So, I had a look through the dozens of fabulous images, but finally decided on a silhouette. Stitchy does some gorgeous silhouettes, and I love everyone of them. The one I chose this time is called 'poppies'.
In photoshop Elements, I added a gradient over the image, changing it from black to something a little more colourful, and I added a red border.
After printing, I matted with red card, and I liked the result so much I decided to go fairly CAS for the rest of the card. I embossed some white card and picked up the vertices in the pattern with red glitter glue before matting onto more red, and that's it! I'm really pleased with the result - especially since I managed to resist the temptation to add more embellishment!
I hope you can join us this week.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Crafty Girls where anything goes,
Delightful Challenges where they want us to 'keep it simple',
Little Miss Muffet where anything goes,
Milk Coffee where they want embossing,
Baffies Kreativladen where anything goes,
Crafty Creations where they want us to 'keep it simple',
Fan Tastic Tuesday where anything goes (as long as it's square),
Party Time Tuesday where anything goes,
Tuesday Throwdown where anything goes,
Crafty Catz where anything goes.
