International Art and Soul Challenge 103

 This fortnight's challenge is hosted by Sall, and the them is Natural World at Christmas without robins! I know that last bit caused be a bit of consternation, as every time I thought of an image, there was a robin somewhere. And then I thought of a CDRom I've had for years but rarely used. It's a Debbi Moore CD, and I can't actually remember if it was from a magazine or bought direct from her site. I combined a couple of backgrounds, borders, a sentiment, and an image in Photoshop Elements, and this was the result.

I added some silver mirror card to create a border to the printed image, and that's it.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 92

This time's challenge was set by Annette, and she wants us to make a tri-shutter card! Now, I had no idea what a tri-shutter card was, so I first had to check out some tutorials to get the basic design.

Now, when it comes to trying out a new fold, I tend to head for Photoshop Elements. I traced out the various elements there, and then added a background colour, then layers of digital paper and the panels, adding wording to two of them.

I printed the image and cut and folded as required.

I used paper, images and other elements which are from Debbi Moore's Venice collection and are available as freebies on her site.

I cut out the images and matted them onto some Spellbinders die cuts.

I finished with some die cut flowers and a feather. The flowers were made using Sizzix dies.

More Christmas Cards

Because I bought a couple of Debbi Moore CDs at Alexandra Palace, I was rooting about the website looking for ideas. I didn't find many ideas, but I did find a whole load of freebies, and I've put a couple to work in my attempt to get ahead with Christmas cards.

For this card, I took a paper, image and greeting from the freebie collection. I added some glitter to the image and matted with gold mirriboard. To finish I used a Marianne Creatables die set to cut and emboss the poinsettia.

Again, the image, sentiment and paper came from the Debbi Moore freebies section. I added glitter to the image and matted, then finished with some gold ribbon and a poinsettia made using a Marianne Creatables die set.

Sketch Saturday No. 82

I really haven't had much energy to make cards of late. Of course, doing over a hundred for Christmas might have something to do with that, as might being generally under the weather for the past couple of weeks. Still, the sketch from Sketch Saturday this week looked interesting.



The image is from a Debbi Moore CD of Art Deco and Art Nouveau images, and I've added some Sakura Glitter pen to the fireworks and detail on the woman's dress. The background paper is taken from an element of the image, and I've added some black glitter paper and textured purple from my collection. The flowers were Wizarded from paper painted with Radiant Rain and finished with a sticky gem. The scallops were done the old-fashioned way - with scissors - and I finished both that and the flowers with some glitter glue.
