One Stitch at a Time Challenge 203

This week at One Stitch at a Time, our challenge is something I know a lot of us find hard. We're challenging you to make something 'for a boy'. He can be any age, and other than that, the choice of theme is yours.

This week, I chose an image from the Digi Blessings collection, called Turn that Frown Upside Down.

I first arranged the image and sentiment in Photoshop Elements. I've actually split the sentiment so that it 'frames' the picture. I coloured the image with Promarkers, and added a faint blue sky behind using Pan Pastels. I've used what has become my 'go to' pad when I want something masculine - it's from the Papermania Persimmon collection. I've had it for quite a while - just shows I don't make that many 'masculine' cards!I've combined three papers here (not something I do often ...) Knowing the males in my family, I haven't embellished the card heavily - the men in my life like things plain and simple! So, apart from the layering, all I've added are a couple of dragonfly brads, on the grounds that they're much more masculine than butterflies! (Well, I think so. And no, it isn't remotely logical.)

This week, I worked with an image from Digi Blessings called Snowflake Butterfly.

 I adapted the sentiment before adding it to the image, then printed and cut using one of my nestibilities. I coloured with Promarkers, adding some pale blue sky with Derwent Colorsoft pencils and some glitter to the snowflakes with Sakura Stardust pen. I finished with some glamour dust 'snow' on the ground. Matting uses some holographic card, which was also used to cut some Cuttlebug snowflakes in my Wizard. The paper is from Kars and the ribbon is from my stash.

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 106

This week at One Stitch at a Time, our challenge is very easy - just use a digi!

This week, I had an image set from Digi Blessings called Flower Girl. There are actually four images in the pack, there's the girl, the table and the large flower as well as a pre-coloured version of the girl. I combined all the uncoloured images to produce my card.

First, I had to alter the png images so that the insides of the pictures weren't transparent, but white. I did that in Photoshop Elements. Then, I sized and placed the images as I wanted them. I used the flower at a range of sizes, and created a partial frame. I printed out the main image, along with three extra copies of the largest flower. I coloured everything with Promarkers, then layered the large flower. I cut a mat using a Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page set, and added the result to white card.

The result is a lot simpler than my usual style, but I didn't think it needed anything else.

I coloured the image with Promarkers, and added some glitter detail on the wording and bee wings with a Sakura Stardust pen. The background paper is from the Papermania Capsule collection and the various embellishments are from my stash, and include a couple of paper flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Isn't it cute? I changed the position of the sentiment, breaking it up so it would fit the shape I wanted, then printed it on my usual Ryman card.  I coloured the image with Promarkers, and cut it out using one of my nesties sets. I filled the holes in the border with sticky gem bubbles.

The backing paper is from Papermania, and the ribbon and flower are from my stash.
