I worked with an image from Hope Jacare which I chose to try to keep up the progress on my Christmas cards! It's a sweet image called Christmas Rooftop.

I coloured the image with Promarkers. I cut with Nestibilities, and used Dovecraft papers. I edged the papers and image with Glamour Dust and added a little to the showy bits too!

I hope you can join us this week.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 173

This week at One Stitch at a Time, we want you to share something special with us - your favourite things!

Our sponsor this week is:

(See challenge blog for details.)

So, my favourite things. I've got lots of them, but one of them is definitely Science Fiction. I used to love the original Star Trek, and I've loved each new story as it's appeared. And then there's Stargate. I mean, what's not to love about that - especially a certain Jack O'Neill? And more recently, there's Firefly/Serenity. And all the hundreds of books I've read over the years too. And one thing I've defnitely achieved is that I've passed on my interest to my three children. I was so proud when my youngest chose a Serenity poster for her university room ...

Anyway, my elder son has a birthday this summer, and when I saw this pack from Cootsy Creations, I had to have it.

I've used one of the papers from the pack, and adjusted it for a square format. I added the sentiment before printing. the image I printed twice, and I coloured with Promarkers before layering.

I hope you can join us this week.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 97

This time, Crafty Cardmakers is celebrating its birthday! The challenge blog is four years old. I remember when it started, although I wasn't on the team then, I knew several people who were, and I followed it with interest until I was ready to apply to join the team. I was really pleased when I was accepted. And that three years ago! Doesn't time fly when you're having fun!

So, since its our birthday, what we'd like is for you to make us a birthday card! As long as it has reference to a birthday on it, it fits this challenge.

Our sponsors this time are:

See the challenge blog for prize details.

Now, I make birthday cards for everyone who works in my planning group at school. And I've found that the ones people are most impressed with are the ones with either decoupage or pyramage. I don't do a lot of either, because I always feel it's cheating a bit - because so much is done for you with those. But, they're very handy when you want something quick. And I've got two summer birthdays coming up, and so I got out my box of bits, and came up with these two.

In both cases, the image and sentiment came from a set I got from ImagEnation. They were reduced, probably because some of the sentiments had errors. (I seem to remember some said Sent with Lot's of Love or some such. I threw those bits away!)

Anyway, back to the cards. In both cases, I found some pretty paper - the green/pink version uses paper from MME, and the blue/lilac one uses some from You to Me. I matted with some co-ordinating card, then made the flower and butterfly from die cuts. I finished the flower with a 'liquid pearl', and the top layer of the butterfly uses some paper I've had forever which has some bits of pink petal and threads through it.

I hope you can join us this week.

I'd like to enter these cards into the following challenges:

Paper Minutes where anything goes,
Crafts and Me where anything goes,
My Creative Moments where the theme is 'birthdays',
Creative Corner where anything goes,
Emerald Fairies where the theme is 'Happy Birthday',

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 172

This week at One Stitch at a Time, the challenge is to use a digi!

Our sponsor this week is
This week, I'm using a Stitchy Bear image chosen my my team mate Hazel. He's called Bah Humbug. Now, I wasn't sure how to use this image at first, and when I'm not sure, I tend to go for humour, and that's what I did this time.

He definitely looks like he's fed up about something, so I thought, why not have him upset at people questioning his colour choice! The image is coloured with Promarkers, and I kept the design fairly simple, with a panel embossed using a Sizzix folder, and some pretty Christmas tree paper from my stash. (Not sure whose it is.)

I hope you can join us this week.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

LEJ Designs where it's Christmas in July,
Papertake Weekly where they want something old, new, borrowed or blue,

Birthday Card

A request from a colleague - and for a specific image too! It's probably my favourite from my favourite CDRom - Enchanted Dreams.

The image and sentiment are printed onto satin photo paper, and the backing paper on to matte ink jet paper. I made the background paper by tiling a segment from the bluebells at the bottom right of the image. Apart from that, I've added some gold mirror card and some punched flowers, and I layered the bubble. (Just one layer so that it'll go standard post rather than large letter ...)

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Allsorts where they want 'favourite things',
Dream Valley where they want us to make our own embellishments,
Sister Act where anything goes,
Creative Moments where they want flowers.
Ruby's Rainbow where they want 'things with wings'.

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 171

This week at One Stitch at a Time, we'd like you to fold it!. That means, we want to see an interesting card fold, or some folded paper on your project.

This week, I got to work with an image from my DT teammate Alipeeps for the first time! When I saw the challenge, I immediately remembered my pad of oriental-themed team bag papers which are gorgeous but rarely-used. So, Alipeeps Geisha Girl was the perfect image.

The image was a lot of fun to colour - and I cut it, and the mat with my nesties. The background is from a Papermania Oriental pad, and the tea bag folding papers are also from Papermania. I finished the rosettes with some 'pearl in a tube' from Tulip.

I hope you can join us this week.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Crafts and Me where anything goes,
Digi Stamp 4 Joy where they want folded paper embellishments,
Bearly Mine where anything goes,
Creative Fingers where anything goes,
Sister Act where anything goes,

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 95

This week at Crafty Cardmakers, it's my turn to host, and the challenge is 'Holidays'! We want to see something that means a holiday (as in, vacation, not festival) to you. It might be a specific destination, or it might be a general theme or feeling that means 'holiday' to you. Whatever you choose, please tell us what your project means to you so we understand the link to 'holiday'!

See challenge blog for details.

So, to me, summer holidays mean the coast. I was born and brought up on the Clyde coast, in a town where the river was almost always visible as the town rises up from the river quite steeply. I now live well inland, and the one thing I miss is being able to see the water.

I've used a Michael Powell image which I stamped using Memento ink. I coloured with Promarkers. I matted the image in red, and then added extra layers with a scallopped edge - using a Spellbinders die. The paper is from Papermania.

The image reminds me of Gourock from the river. It's not that it really looks like that, and the hill isn't nearly steep enough! But it still reminds me, and makes me think of holiday time and taking a ferry to Argyll.

I hope you can join us this time.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Papercrafting Journey where they want 'anything but square',
Crafting By Designs where anything goes,
Crafts and Me where anything goes,
Pollycraft where anything goes,
Milk Coffee where the theme is 'summer fun'
Sister Act where anything goes,
Stamping for the Weekend where anything goes,
Stamping with the Dragon where anything goes.
