As I said in my last DT post for Crafty Cardmakers, I recently did a session on rubber stamping for my crafts group. And this time, I've got another card that I made as a technique sample.
I wanted to show how you can combine watercolour with heat embossing. I embossed two sizes of the image (a very old mounted stamp from Hobby Art) in clear, then created a coloured background using Promarker water based pens. I used the same pens to give a bit more definition to the butterflies. The three foreground butterflies were stamped with Versafine ink and embossed in gold. I added colour to them, again, with Promarker water based pens.
The sentiment also uses a very old stamp. A long time ago - I'd estimate around 15 years - there was a craft show at Olympia which started out s a knitting and stitching show, but also covered papercrafts. And one time when I visited, someone was selling pre-inked stamps. They're a strange design. I call them stamps, but it's more as if there's a slit in a plastic layer in the shape of the wording. Anyway, they are filled with black ink, but it's slow enough to dry to be embossable. And that's what I did here.
And that's it. I do hope you can join us this time.

International Art and Soul Challenge 75
The theme for this fortnight's challenge is Recycling. Other than having a recycled element to it, your project can be anything you like.
I decided to make a card using some recycled crafty packaging in the mix.
The main image is from Woodware, which was stamped and heat embossed in gold. I coloured the image with my very elderly Twinkling H2Os. (I had to throw another one away today as it had gone mouldy inside. But then, I have had them for many years.)
The paper is from a magazine freebie pad. The clear layer under the half-front was cut from the packaging of some Crafter's Companion mirror card. It's quite thin, but kept in place between the image panel and a plain white panel on the inside.
You can't really see the clear layer, but you can see the backs of the two sticky gems!
I do hope you can join us this time.

International Art and Soul Challenge 74
Our first challenge of 2020 is to create something that is monochromatic. The project can be anything you like, and any theme.
I've got a Christmas card I made using a Woodware stamp.
The image was stamped using Versafine ink, and the background shaded using Distress Oxide ink. The background paper is a magazine freebie from several years ago.
I hope you can join us this time.

Crafty Cardmakers and More Challenge 109
This time at Crafty Cardmakers, our theme, chosen by my team mate, Carole, is It's a Man's World. So, a project for a male of any age is what we're looking for.
Our sponsors this time are:
See the challenge blog (link in my sidebar) for more details.
I got to work with a lovely image from our sponsor The Stamping Boutique called AJ the Race Car Driver.
I coloured AJ and his racing car using Promarkers, but added a little shading in the background using Pan Pastels. The papers are from Paper Pizazz - a pad I bought from a colleague who was giving up her cardmaking. I love this pad - so many gorgeous papers, but I've never seen any Paper Pizazz papers in the shops. I must ask her where she got it from. I finished the card with a checkered flag I made with some card and a spent matchstick that I coloured with black Promarker.
I hope you can join us this time.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Party Time Tuesdays where anything goes,
4 Crafty Chicks where anything goes,
Crafty Catz where anything goes,
Catch the Bug where anything goes,
Hiding in my Craftroom where the theme is, 'I'm Blue without You',
Challenges 4 Everybody where anything goes.

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 53 Second Post
And my second post for this challenge.
This time, I had the pleasure of working with one of our sponsor's image, and I chose Matroyshka Doll no. 4 from The Stamping Boutique.
There are several designs of these dolls, and with a bit of editing, you can 'create' even more.
I altered the clothing on three of the dolls - removing the 'apron' and adding a bit of pattern. They're all coloured with Promarkers, although Sakura Stardust pen has been added to the detail on the clothing.
The papers are from Papermania, and I've used a Martha Stewart border punch and some ribbon. The flowers are hand made using some punches, Promarkers, glitter glue and they were spritzed with Glimmer Mist in Pearl.
I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:
Bearly Mine who want birthday cards,
Your Next Stamp where they want to see blue,
Top Tip Tuesday where they want birthday cards,
Craft your Passion where 'anything goes'
Sarah Hurley who wants flowers
Southern Girls who want flowers,
Daring Cardmakers where they want 'home made' embellishments - the flowers were all punched and assembled at 'home'!
Sugar Creek Hollow who want hand-made flowers - all the flowers were hand-made.
Now, go and check out the rest of the DT and their fabulous creations!
