One Stitch at a Time Challenge 236

This time, at One Stitch at a Time, our theme is 'Special Lady'. And we're sponsored by

See the challenge blog (link in my sidebar) for details.

I got to choose an image from the collection by Reece's Scrap Pieces and chose a set called 'Leaving the Nest'. It comes as a digi stamp and a pre-coloured image, and I decided to use the pre-coloured version.

Where does the special lady come in? It's a card for my sister!

I added the sentiment and frames in Photoshop Elements, and printed, adding extra layers of the clock and little bird, which I layered. I embellished with a pocket-watch die (from Marianne) which I used to add the detail with Pan Pastels, and a little bird from a different company (whose name I can't remember.) I completed with some pretty lace to give the card a more feminine feel.

I hope you can join us this time.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Be Crafty and Craft where anything goes,
Crafts Galore Encore where anything goes,
Crafting Musketeers where they want us to use a die cut,
613 Avenue Create where anything goes,

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 217

This week at One Stitch at a Time, we want you to 'button it!' So, what does that say to you?

We're sponsored by

See the challenge blog for details.

This week, I worked with an image from Reece's Scrap Pieces called Just a Swinging.

I added the sentiment in Photoshop Elements, and coloured the image with my new Spectrum Noir pencils. I'm getting mixed results with them - I  was fairly happy with this image, but others have been less successful. But, I got their new technique DVD today, so watch this space ...

I shaded around the image and background paper with Pan Pastels. The paper is from Papermania, and I finished with some brightly coloured wooden buttons I got from The Works while I was on holiday last week.

I hope you can join us this week.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

2 Cute Ink where the theme is 'birthday',
Crafting from the Heart where anything goes,

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 190

This week at One Stitch at a Time, we're having that best of all challenges - an anything goes!

We're sponsored by:

See the challenge blog for details.

This time, the image was chosen by my team mate Shell, and it's Inviting Hug from Reeses Scrap Pieces.

I used the ready-coloured version, and added a background and wording in Photoshop Elements before printing. I then used all three of the supplied paper designs to complete the card!

It's a very simple card, but still quite effective, I think. And let's face it, we often need to make simple cards - especially for Christmas when we're making a lot more than usual!

I hope you can join us this week.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Cards for Men where the theme is 'Merry Christmas',

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 177

This week at One Stitch at a Time, we're having a 'Back to School' challenge. Now, this is one of those that I find hard, as I've never sent a 'back to school' card in my life, and even if I wanted that, my kids are either working or at university so it's not relevant anyway. Still, I've gone with a 'learning' theme, and a wish that would certainly be appropriate for someone starting on a course of learning - whether formal or otherwise!

I chose an image from Reece's Scrap Pieces called Little Painter.

I designed a 'frame' in Photoshop Elements, but couldn't print it and the image onto the same paper because what's best for printed colour doesn't work well with Promarkers, so it's two separate layers.

The background uses four strips of Coredinations Black Magic in shades or red, orange, yellow, and green. I embossed using an Embossalicious folder and my Big Shot Pro and sanded to reveal the core colours.

I hope you can join us this week.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Bearly Mine where anything goes,
Cuttlebug Mania where they want embossing,
Top Tim Tuesday where they want embossing,
Just Inspriational who have a photo for inspiration (from which I took the rainbow of colours.)

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 159

This week at One Stitch at a Time, we want you to create something bright!

Our sponsor this week is:

See the challenge blog for more details.

This week, I chose a set of papers and images from Reese's Scrap Pieces called Sweet Treats. There are digistamps, papers, and pre-coloured images. I chose to use one of the pre-coloured images and a paper to make a birthday card for a colleague who's known for baking.

I printed the image several times, then layered the cake, giving each layer a little shape. I added the sentiment in Photoshop Elements before printing. The die cut is from Spellbinders, and I used a Tonic Border punch. I finished with a little glitter on the cake, and some pretty lace.

I hope you can join us this week.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Card Mania where they want die cuts or punches,
Sparkle and Sprinkle where they want us to use a digital image,
Bearly Mine where anything goes,

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 142

This week at One Stitch at a Time, we're having another 'anything goes', so you can show us what you've been up to!

We're sponsored this week by Rick St. Dennis.

This week, I worked with an image from Reece's Scrap Pieces, and when I got the image, we were about to have my sister and her husband arrive for the weekend. So, because all my craft bits had been tidied away (except my trusty laptop), I decided to do a digital card, and this is what I came up with!

But then, our guests left by lunchtime on Sunday to go and visit some friends on the way home, so the card, paper, glue, Wizard and so on got pulled out again, and I adapted the digital design and came up with this:
In both cases, I used the pre-coloured image that came with the set. If you check out the DT blog and some of my team-mates' blogs, you'll see how they chose to colour the digi stamp instead. I added the floral border, using the motif on the bowl, and completed the image with a green border in Photoshop Elements. Then, I did  greeting, adding two single flowers from the main image, and finally, put together a backing paper using the same single flower, although I did make it a lot smaller!

Hope you can join us this week!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Chocolate, Coffee and Cards where they want clean and simple,
Simon Says Stamp where anything goes,
Corrosive Challenges where anything goes,
Glitter and Sparkle where they want flowers (I hope the use of the image flowers in the background and sentiment panels is enough.)
Joanna Sheen where it's anything goes (except Christmas!)

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 131

This week at One Stitch at a Time, our theme is Autumn. Now, my mind did drift towards autumn colours and leaves, and then it did a right turn and ended up with something rather different. This time last year, our eldest was about to start his first permanent job after graduating from university. I searched for an image suitable for him, and couldn't find anything suitable for the occasion. So, when I saw this image and paper pack from Reece's Scrap Pieces, I thought it'd be perfect for any young woman starting on a professional career this Autumn.

The pack is called 'Business Like' and it's available from the Stitchy Bear shop.

I used two of the papers supplied, and I coloured the image with Promarkers. I used a Tonic border punch (one of the new geared style) and a Nellie Snellen die to cut the image. I added some colour around the image with Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick Distress ink.

Our sponsors this week are:

I hope you can join us this week.

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 129

This week at One Stitch at a Time, we've got a great challenge, and prize. The artists on the team have been busily creating images and papers to make a grand prize!

And don't forget, is you're not lucky enough to win, you can still get this set of images and papers free if you buy $12 worth of products from Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps!

I got to work with a lovely image from Reece's Scrap Pieces. She's called it Back to School but it's got many more uses than that! I've incorporated it into a digital collage that I made as an e-card for my son. He's spending a year abroad as part of his degree, and so far, he's been in Germany for three weeks, and will soon move onto France for a semester at university there. Then, in the spring, he'll go back to Germany again. He'll be living in university halls while he's away, but getting actual postal addresses for those is hard unless you're actually there (we don't have any idea of room or building numbers, for example), so sending him a paper card would be difficult or at least delayed.

I used Photoshop Elements throughout. The background is one that came with that software, and the various other additions came from some vintage images in the Crafty Image Emporium CD that I bought from Crafty Computer Paper a couple of years ago.

I hope you can join us this week.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

(I checked each set of challenge rules and didn't see any prohibition of e-cards. If this project doesn't fit your rules, I apologise. I've never entered an e-card into challenges before!)

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 111

This week at One Stitch at a Time, our theme is 'Here Comes Summer!'

My card this week uses an image and papers from Reese's Scrap Pieces which are from a pack available from Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps.

I put three of the papers together (the pink, purple and green - to make a backing paper, then framed the image with some of the fourth paper (the blue), adding a caption before printing. The image has been coloured with Promarkers in shades to match the papers, and the flowers were punched from prints two of the papers. The only other addition is the paper doiley - I bought those ages ago, but rarely seem to use them!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Truly, Madly, Crafty where they want hand made flowers,
Oldie but Goodie where they want 'in the garden' (I've had those doilies for a year or so.)
Inky Impressions where anything goes,

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 95

This week at One Stitch at a Time, we want you to use three embellishments! Any theme or colours you like, as long as we can count three embellishments.

Our Sponsor this week is

This week, I had an image from Reece's Scrap Pieces called Stroll in the Rain which is available from Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and used nesties to cut and mat the result. The flowers are made from multiple layers of tissue paper cut with my Dahlia dies from Spellbinders, and the green fronds use a Marianne Creatables die. The paper used was the same both times, although I oriented the paper both ways in the die so I got mirror images of the final result. I think that slight difference in curvature of the die cut is the reason they look so different in the photo! The background was embossed in my Wizard using a dragonflies embossing folder.

Hope you can join us this week.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Incy Wincy where anything goes,
Paper Creations Ink where they want die cuts (die cut image and mat, flower layers and leaf swirls),

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 89

This week at One Stitch at a Time, we've got the best challenge of all - Anything Goes!

We're sponsored this time by Creative Craft World who're offering three Promarkers to the lucky winner .

This week, I chose a gorgeous image and paper set from Reece's Scrap Pieces. It's called In the Meadow we can Build a Snowman and it's available at the Stitchy Bear shop where there's a great deal coming up.

The set consists of a standard digi-stamp, a pre-coloured image and five toning papers.

Here, I've used the pre-coloured image and four of the five supplied papers. I matted three of the papers with a fourth one (a dark blue) in Photoshop Elements before printing them onto Ryman Matte Ink Jet paper. I printed the image onto Glossy photo paper and added some Glamour Dust before matting onto blue card. The snowflakes were die cut using a Marianne Creatables set in my Wizard, using white card that had been sprayed with Crafter's Companion Spray and Sparkle in irridescent.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Fab'n'Funky where 'Baby, it's cold outside,'
Moving Along with the Times where the theme is 'Let it Snow',
Shelley's Images where anything goes,
Crafter's Companion where the theme is Let it Snow,
Tiffany Doodles where they want glitter and sparkle,
Glitter Fairies where they want Christmas without red, green and gold,
Creatalicious Challenges where they want Christmas with sparkle,
Winter Wonderland where they want cute Christmas images,
Two Sisters where they want sparkle,

I also coloured the image to match some paper I had, and came up with this:

I shaded the sky area of the image a pale blue in Photoshop Elements before printing, but you can't see that in the photo. (I can either use artificial light which washes out pale colours or have a really dark photo just now!) The paper and gold mesh are from my stash, and the snowflakes and stars were cut from gold card using a Cuttlebug die.
I hope you can join us this week.

Craft Your Passion where the theme is 'Let it Snow',
The Craft Garden where they want Christmas without red of green,
CRAFT where they want to see stars,
Phindy's Place where they want Christmas Cards,
Cardmadfairy where they want texture,
Crafty Emma where they want snowflakes,

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 81

Before I get into this week's challenge, here's some news! A little while ago, the Stitchy Bear store suffered a catastrophic crash. Poof! And it was gone. Now, if you like digis, this seems like bad news, but the good news is that the shop is back and it's better than ever! And, to celebrate the re-launch, Stitchy has a freebie on offer! Just visit the new site here, register for the site, and use this code: a7b8ebc33b. It's only valid until tonight, so you'll have to be quick!

Now, to this week's challenge at One Stitch at a Time/ The theme this week is 'Favourites', and our sponsor  is Digis with Attitude.

This week I got to work with a really cute image from Reece's Scrap Pieces called Bathtime Lucy.

I coloured her with Promarkers and added detail to the bubbles with Sakura Stardust pen - probably my favourite ways of colouring an image. I love how the Sakura pen is so easy and mess-free while giving a gorgeous sparkle. As someone whose craft things are stored in small spaces in three different rooms and who crafts at the same table we eat at every day, I sometimes find the effort of looking out the glitter and clearing up the resulting mess is more than I can cope with when I'm short of time. With the glitter pens, I get the effect without the hassle. (That's not to say I don't use glitter too, but that's a different story.)

The butterflies are die cut from some gorgeous sparkly 'paper' from Craft Creations and finished with beads.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Bows and Berries where the theme is glitter (glitter pen on the bubbles)
Kaboodle Doodles where the theme is 'lots of layers' (I've used six.)
Flutterby Wednesdays where anything goes,
The Paper Shelter where anything goes,
Southern Girls where anything goes
Cardmad Fairy where they want 'lots of layers' (I've used six.)
Our Craft Lounge where they want patterened paper.
Designed 2 Delight where they want die cuts (image, mat and butterflies are all die cut).

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 61

This week at One Stitch at a Time, we want to see your fancy folds! That's right, not standard single fold cards - do something a bit different. Other than that, it's whatever you want! And we're sponsored by
This week, I had to choose an image from Reece's Scrap Pieces, and I decided to go for another Christmas themed digi. And I thought I'd have a go at a twisted easel style card.
And so you can see the image more clearly,

The image (Oh Holy Night) is a combination of a picture and some word art. It's lovely, and while I chose to use soft colours for it, it would look great with vivid Christmas colours too. It's coloured with Promarkers, and I've added some detail and coloured the text with a Letraset silver marker, and added some Glamour Dust to the snow. The 'Merry Christmas' is computer generated, the papers are from a Papercraft Inspirations CD, and the snowflakes were cut using a Spellbinders die in my Wizard.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Lothian Crafts Online who want easel cards,

Top Tip Tuesday who're having an open challenge,
Papertake Weekly where anything goes,
Divas by Design where anything goes,
Craft your Passion where anything goes,
